Weekly Learning Snapshot – Grade 3: Building Community & Celebrating Together 🎄 This week in Grade 3 was full of joy, collaboration, and meaningful  learning as we moved deeper into our unit “How We Organize Ourselves” —all wrapped in the spirit of Christmas! Unit of Inquiry – Understanding Community & Society As inquirers and thinkers , students explored what makes a community function well. We investigated: What is a community? Who belongs to our school community? What responsibilities do these members have? What happens when people in a community don’t work together or rules are not followed? Students discussed these ideas with classmates, demonstrating strong communication and social skills . We also watched a short film about society and community , which helped us compare the difference between the two. Grade 3 Weekly Blog – Exploring How We Organize Ourselves This week, Grade 3 officially launched Unit 3: How We Organize Ourselves , and our learners were immediately immersed in meaningful inquiry connected to citizenship, community, and responsibility. Using their Thinking and Research Skills , the students engaged in several hands-on provocations designed to activate prior knowledge and spark curiosity. Exploring Citizens and Their Roles We began by looking at a variety of citizens in a community—such as a doctor, sanitation worker, teacher, firefighter, politician, parent, and student. Students reflected on guiding questions connected to our Line of Inquiry: Citizens in different societies : How do they contribute to society? What responsibilities do they have? This discussion helped students recognize how different roles support a functioning community and how everyone’s actions can impact others. A Week of Balance, Exploration, and Community

Celebrating Well-Being, Inquiry, and Creativity in Grade 3 This week was an exciting and memorable one for our Grade 3 learners! On Monday, we enjoyed our annual Sports Day , followed by Cross Country with Upper Primary in the afternoon. The perfect weather, the joyful atmosphere, and the incredible enthusiasm of the students made both events truly special. Our learners demonstrated perseverance, teamwork, and a strong sense of being balanced . A big thank you to all parents for your wonderful support and active involvement throughout the day! As we wrapped up our Unit of Inquiry, we explored different types of renewable and non-renewable energy . Using their research and thinking skills , the students worked in pairs to create informative posters. They organized their information, illustrated key concepts, and confidently presented their findings to the class.
