  Grade 3 Weekly Blog – Learning How the World Works This week in Grade 3, we continued exploring our Unit of Inquiry “How the World Works” with a focus on earthquakes and how societies prepare for natural disasters . The students showed great curiosity, responsibility, and teamwork throughout our learning. Our central idea is “Societies prepare for natural disasters.” The students showed great curiosity and engagement right from the beginning. Unit of Inquiry - Learning About Earthquakes To introduce the unit, the students listened to a story about an earthquake in Luma . After the read-aloud, they shared their thoughts, feelings, and ideas, and we collected questions and key points together as a class. Over the past days, students worked with great commitment and enthusiasm to prepare their performances. They practiced their lines again and again, gathered the necessary accessories, supported one another during rehearsals, and gave thoughtful feedback to other groups. Many students helped their peers remember lines, suggested improvements, and encouraged each other to speak clearly and confidently. It was wonderful to see such strong teamwork and cooperation.
