Grade 3 Weekly Update – Learning, Creating, and Exploring
This week in Grade 3 was full of learning, creativity, and focus across different subjects.
Unit of Inquiry – Getting Ready for Our Assembly
In our Unit of Inquiry, we worked hard to prepare for our upcoming assembly. Students developed their roles, wrote dialogues, and discussed how to present their ideas clearly and confidently. Groups who finished early were already able to start their first rehearsals. It was great to see how well the students worked together, supported one another, and took responsibility for their tasks.
Mathematics – Discovering Symmetry
In Mathematics, we started our new topic on symmetry. Students explored different shapes and solids, looking for lines of symmetry and discussing which shapes are symmetrical and why. They enjoyed investigating and sharing their ideas during class discussions.
Language / English – Working with Poetry
In Language, we explored another poem. The students first listened carefully, then read it aloud together. Afterwards, they completed different tasks to help them understand the poem better and think about its meaning and message.
Virtual Reality – Traveling Around the Earth
A special highlight this week was using our VR glasses. The students traveled around the Earth, exploring different places and gaining a new perspective of our planet. This experience sparked a lot of curiosity and great conversations in class.
Assessments
This week also included a Math assessment and a Writing assessment. The students approached both tasks with focus and did their best to show what they have learned.
Overall, it was a busy and successful week. We are proud of the students’ effort and look forward to continuing our learning journey together.
